At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Sunday night, members of the Yonkers Police department and paramedics were dispatched to the aqueduct approaching Lamartine Avenue, where there was a report of a “man down," Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said,

Upon arrival at the scene, police officials said that first responders found a man -- later identified as Dobbs Ferry resident Timothy Wesner --  “in a lifeless state,” and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The area was cordoned off, and a police investigation was launched, Politopoulos said.

According to Politopoulos, “detectives from the Major Case Squad and Crime Scene Unit responded, interviewing subjects, canvassing for witnesses and surveillance video, and processing forensic evidence. Preliminary investigation has yielded no obvious signs of trauma to the body; drug paraphernalia was recovered at the scene.”

Wesner’s body has been turned in to the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.

Politopoulos said no further information will be released at this time.
